JUDY ‘Supporting the cross-disability movement to deliver on the rights of youth with disabilities from underrepresented groups to live independently and be included in the community’
This is a three-year project that promotes the inclusion of youth with disabilities from underrepresented groups in organizations of persons with disabilities and strengthens their capacity to hold their governments to account for inclusive approaches to deinstitutionalization.
The project is implemented in Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia and has 3 specific objectives:
- Youth with disabilities from underrepresented groups are better equipped with the knowledge and skills to advocate for their right to inclusive participation and their right to live independently and be included in the community.
- Increased participation of youth with disabilities from underrepresented groups and their OPDs in rights-based advocacy and collective action work on the right to live independently and be included in the community.
- Increased knowledge of external stakeholders, including other disability rights groups and civil society organizations, on the implementation of inclusive policy on ensuring the right to live independently and be included in the community and how to apply it in practice.
